The suspense is over..for those who did not know we went to a 2 days one nite road trip to Malacca on Sat and returned to singapore Sunday...my connection with Malacca is strong as my paternal grandparents orginated from there, infact my dad and his siblings are born there too. I also have some relatives there. In fact i been there when i was 11 years old but was not such a memorable trip due to Car sickness as at tat time there was no expressways and it was a long trip! but this time round the distance was only abt 2-3hrs from S'pore.
So overall how was the trip...? Well i would say it was an eye-opener and quite fun..especially for the 2 little toddlers who enjoyed chasing each other..so cute...but i would rate very low marks for the Afamosa resort that we stayed in ..it seriously needed some high maintenance though the villa we stayed was spacious and cosy. It was sure lots of fun with 10 adults and 2 toddlers, minus the co-ordination during driving part..but at the end all ended well..I was pretty amazed with the road courtesy displayed by the Malaccans or Malaysians. Once they see a fast coming car they give way by changing lane which is such a rarity here. the people there are also fluent in English and quite well dressed.
But of all the tings there, i enjoyed shopping for small items...I would have bought the small rocking chair for Boo if not for the lack of space in the car..and it was truly a comical moment when Osman opened the boot in the S'pore customs and the mango bags fell out....and shared many small cute moments with the group...so I was wondering if all would want to go for another such trip again after this one? and to my suprise Abi too asked me when are the next holidays feasible for travelling...guess the majority may want to go another road trip again?
we got one in Labour Day (thursday), so Fri, Sat & Sun good for travelling
