Transport Woes

Conversation between Daddy and daughter tis morning...

We saw a MRT train passing by and Boo made the "choo..choo..choo" sound...

Daddy excitedly told her, "When you grow up already must take MRT alone and travel around k"...

Gal nods her head...

Then she excitedly says "TAXI"....saw taxi nearby...and we broke into laughter...Looks like she'll grow up to be like me...sec sch also take taxi..work nearby also Taxi...

What are your takes on recent rise of ERP gallantries?

I was viewing a Tamil TV prog yest and they went around interviewing the general public's views on this recent system....

One of the feedback was the purpose of the ERP was to reduce conjestion to go work at key places however why are they are still charged when exiting also.

Both the major as well as minor roads now have the gantries..so drivers cannot use alternative routes to evade it...

Another area of concern is the rise of public transport cost again...Will all be able to cope with the rise? I notice esp during peak hours MRT or the buses are damn packed. Getting a seat is out of question...the frequency shd really be increased

I read a forum page the other day the reader was querying why quota of COEs not reduced as it causes more cars being bought then more traffic conjestion then it will be EVEYDAY, EVERYWHERE PAY?? ERP

One of the interesting and workable suggestion is to build roads vertically (according to Abi, currently exists in Japan)....since people are buying more cars...due to recent COEs being afforable and S'pore lack the luxury of space...maybe this idea is feasible..i do not think the cars purchase would reduce drastically even with the ERP..and now we have the growth of CNG led cars on the road...

But looks like all these changes are inevitable...we need to brace ourselves and look for solutions amidst the problems...and you could see I'm FREE..
